Eaton Hill Upholstery is the studio of Ellen Blachly, located at 147 Mack's Mountain Road in Peacham, Vermont.
Ellen's background is as a tailor and pattern-maker. She then apprenticed to the upholstery trade, and earned a Master's Degree in Furniture Restoration, Conservation, and Decorative Arts from Buckinghamshire New University in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, UK, studying under David James, Gregg Cuppit, and Campbell Norman-Smith. As a complement to upholstery, therefore, she has training in furniture restoration and conservation, and documentation. As part of her Master's work, she upholstered two chairs for the Palace of Holyrood in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Ellen's work includes projects for private clients, and institutions. In 2014, she became the upholsterer to the Vermont Statehouse.
